Adalajni Vav: About 20 km north of Ahmedabad. The legendary Vav far away. During the reign of Sultan Mahmud Begda, two wavs were built as great monuments. In Ahmedabad, in 1499, Daddashi Bai Hari Sultani of Zana Bagda Bai Hari Sultani built Dadda (Dada) Hari and the second of Vaghela Rao Vir Singh, the wife of Radabai, 159, and 159. Built in Adalaj at the expense of lakhs of cents (rupees).
There are three entrances to this vav, East, West and South. And so it is considered a 'Jaya' type of seed. In the architect's book 'Aparajitpriccha' it is said that the construction of 'Jaya' type of Vav (even for gods) is rare. The main architect who built this wav was Bhimaputra Masana of Srimali caste. On the south side is the main entrance of the Vav. The Vav is five stories underground and the fifth story is below the water surface. The length of the sow is 75.3 m. This vavna is nine feet (feet = pillared construction). There are four mandaps. The three entrances lead to the lower first floor and converge there at the Dwarmandapa. All pillars of Vava have four parts: (1) Kumbi, (2) Column, (3) Bharana, (4) Saru.
There are horizontal stripes on the saroo part. All the patadas are rich in sculptures. The first porch has two floors. Each floor has four four m twelve columns in a row of three. There are diagonals connecting the column and column. Between the third and fourth mandapa lies an octagonal tank. The tank is arranged in a nine meter square.A king is seated on a patta in a patta on the main staircase of the second mandapa. Both sides of them are hideous. There are also scenic views on both sides. It features women stroking and combing their hair, Bhairava with Damru and dog, dancing children, musicians and a girl with a parrot. This is the best creation of the entire Vava in terms of sculpture. Navagraha is carved at the entrance of the stairs going down to the second floor. There are as many as 56 gokhlas full of sculptures in the Vav. Sculptures of goddesses Durga, Chamunda etc. are carved in the Vav. The entire sculpture and architecture of Vav is mesmerizing to the viewer.
Dated by UNESCO. The week from 19 November 2019 to 25 November 2019 is being celebrated as Heritage Week. Also our city of Ahmedabad has got recognition as a heritage city.Today, even after 500 years, the seed of Adalaj stands before us intact and intact. With free entry from 6 am to 6 pm, foreign tourists, architecture students, photographers come for research work and photoshoots.
The five-storied architecture of Adalajni Vav is built using Bhukaria sandstone. The passage of air and light inside the Vav is designed so that direct sunlight does not fall on the steps. The fifth floor of Vav is amazing. From here you can see the turquoise colored waters of Vav and its wonderful aura.
The architecture of Adalajni Vav differs in many ways from that of other Vavs in Gujarat, the Vav has steps descending from three directions to the entrance, all of which meet on the first floor. Not only that, as we descend in the Vav, the temperature inside the Vav gets colder. The temperature inside the sow appears to be 6 degrees lower than the temperature outside. The coolness of the Vav, the amazingly picturesque carvings and the idols of the nine planetary deities carved on the walls are a special attraction. It is believed that the Navagraha deities carved around the seed protect the seed. This Vav is also known as Rudabai's Vav as it was made by Mehmud Begda as a condition for marrying Rani Rudabai.
